We Are amfori BSCI Certified: What That Proves About Our Insole Factory
S-King holds amfori BSCI social compliance certification. On our certificate, the scope reads: social compliance covering labor standards and working conditions. That sentence is doing real work, because it tells you an independent auditor walked our floor, opened our records, and spoke to our operators.
The useful question is not whether we have it. It is what an auditor actually verified, and which parts of your own compliance file stop needing attention because of it. Both answers are below.

What an Auditor Examined on Site
amfori BSCI assessments are built from 13 performance areas in four blocks. These are not self-declared — they are checked against records, site conditions and confidential worker interviews:
| Block | Performance areas | What gets checked |
|---|---|---|
| Social management and workplace relations | PA 1–4 | Management systems and cascade effect, worker involvement and protection, freedom of association, no discrimination or harassment |
| Employee well-being and fair practices | PA 5–7 | Fair remuneration, decent working hours, occupational health and safety |
| Protection of vulnerable workers | PA 8–11 | No child labor, protection for young workers, no precarious employment, no forced or bonded labor |
| Ethical practices | PA 12–13 | Environmental protection, ethical business behavior |
Auditor scope is one part of a wider factory review; the rest is covered in our factory audit checklist for B2B buyers.
PA 5, 6 and 7 — pay, working hours and safety — carry most of the findings across the industry, because they depend on months of records agreeing with each other rather than on a tidy site visit.
How the Rating and Its Expiry Date Work
The assessment ends in an overall letter rating, and the rating determines how long the result stays valid:
| Rating | Validity | What it means on your side |
|---|---|---|
| A or B | 24 months, with no follow-up | Next full audit due at the end of the two-year cycle |
| C, D or E | 12 months, with a follow-up between two and twelve months later | Follow-up checks only the areas that carried findings |
Within a two-year cycle only one full audit can be requested, and amfori does not support full audits every year. Expiry is therefore a scheduling matter: if a report runs out mid-season, plan the re-assessment weeks earlier, especially since pay and hours records need two to three months to show anything new.
What Our Certification Takes Off Your File
Certification is worth something only if it removes work from the buyer. In practice it does four things:
- Retailer admission. Most European retail programs require a recognized social compliance assessment before a supplier can be listed. Ours is already on the amfori platform.
- No duplicate audit for you. Because the result is shared through the platform, you are not starting a factory audit from zero to work with us.
- Lower reputational exposure. Labor, hours and safety are the findings that escalate fastest when something goes wrong. They have been examined here by a third party, not asserted by us.
- Faster document pass. Compliance files usually stall on missing papers. Certificate numbers and scope are published on our certificate page, which is usually enough to clear the first review.
Verify It Yourself
We would rather you check than take our word. Two things make that possible:
- Ask for our amfori ID. Once your organization is linked on the amfori Sustainability Platform, you read the current report yourself rather than relying on a file we forwarded.
- Ask for the rating and expiry date together. Either alone is incomplete — the rating tells you the result, the date tells you whether it still applies.
Ask for both in your first RFQ rather than a later email. Our overview of what belongs in an insole manufacturer RFQ shows where they fit.
Our certification sits alongside CE conformity and ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification, and our factory is an SGS on-site verified factory. For the wider list of documents we can supply with a quote, see our guide to which certifications to ask a supplier for.
Zero Tolerance: We Stay Accountable Between Audits
Some findings are handled separately from the score. A finding involving child labor, forced or bonded labor, inhuman treatment, an imminent threat to workers’ health or lives, or unethical behavior such as falsified records triggers amfori’s Zero Tolerance protocol regardless of how the rest of the assessment scores.
We mention this because it is the part that protects you most. It means the result is not a one-time badge we collected once and keep displaying.
Manufacturer Insight
From the factory side, the part of an amfori BSCI assessment that takes real effort is not hardware — a fire extinguisher is replaced in an afternoon. It is consistency: timecards, payroll, overtime consent and insurance records have to agree across months, because auditors sample months, not days.
Chemical management works the same way. We keep safety data sheets for the adhesives and coatings we use, stored beside the line rather than in an office folder, because safety reviewers walk the floor and question operators, not managers. Records produced only when someone asks tend to fail when a different person answers.
Working hours are the structural risk, and it is worth being blunt about it: a program that sells well pushes lines harder. Our ISO 45001 system keeps the safety side routine rather than reactive, but no certificate removes the fact that a large volume jump right before an assessment is a bad plan. Buyers who plan around that make everything easier.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is S-King actually amfori BSCI certified?
Yes. Our certificate is issued by amfori and the scope is social compliance covering labor standards and working conditions. We can supply current copies with the certificate number during the quotation process.
What does the certificate prove?
That an independent auditor reviewed our site against the 13 amfori BSCI performance areas — records, floor conditions and worker interviews — rather than that we wrote a policy and signed it. It covers how the factory is run, not how an insole performs.
Does the certificate guarantee our products pass customs?
Not by itself. Social compliance and product conformity are separate files. EU customs and marketplace reviews usually ask for CE conformity and material test reports alongside social compliance, so send us your destination market and we will confirm the exact document set.
How long is the certificate valid?
Validity follows the rating: 24 months at A or B, 12 months at C, D or E, with a follow-up in between. Ask us for the expiry date alongside the rating, and we will send both.
Can we show your certificates under our own brand?
For private label and OEM projects we supply the certification and test documents your compliance file needs. The certificates themselves stay issued to Dongguan S-King Insoles Limited as the manufacturer.
